Supply and fit, or fitting only

Dan can supply and fit your flooring, or fit flooring you have already bought where it is suitable. Supply and fit means the material, underlay or adhesive and fitting are all in one quote. For fitting only, it helps to share the product name and quantity first.

Area, layout and material

Floor area matters, but so does shape. Bay windows, alcoves, lots of doorways and awkward corners take more cutting and time than a simple rectangle. The material you choose, whether carpet, LVT, vinyl or laminate, and its range all affect the price.

The floor underneath

The existing subfloor can change the scope more than anything else. Uneven concrete, loose boards, old adhesive or damp all need dealing with before a new floor goes down. Moisture cannot be judged by eye, so it is checked where relevant.

Smoothing or self-levelling compound may be needed under LVT or vinyl. This is surface preparation, not structural or pumped screed; the latter is not advertised as part of this service.

Removal, furniture and stairs

Lifting and disposing of old flooring, moving furniture and taking off doors all add time. Stairs are fitted step by step, so a staircase is priced differently from a flat room of the same area.

Patterns, transitions and access

Herringbone and other patterned layouts take longer to set out and fit than straight planks. Threshold strips where floors meet, parking and access to the property, and for businesses, working around opening hours, are all part of the picture.

Common questions

Can you give a price over the phone?

Dan can talk through your project, but a quote depends on the room, the existing floor and the material, so photographs or a visit help give an accurate figure.

Will you fit flooring I have bought myself?

Often, yes, where the product is suitable. Share the product details and quantity when you get in touch.

Is preparation included in the quote?

Any preparation Dan recommends is set out in the quote so you can see what is included.

Do stairs cost more?

Stairs are fitted step by step, so they are quoted separately from flat floor areas.
